Skin & Laser Treatments

A guide to skin and laser treatments in Parkdale

Skin and laser treatments are quickly becoming some of the most effective ways to address a wide range of skin concerns without surgery or lengthy downtime. At BYGOLDEN in Parkdale, we see clients from Mentone, Mordialloc, Beaumaris, Cheltenham, and surrounding bayside suburbs, offering the latest technology to deliver precise, tailored results.

Whether you’re new to laser or wanting to understand how they work, we’ve broken down some common questions our clinicians are often asked

What’s the difference between laser resurfacing and chemical peels?

Laser resurfacing uses targeted light energy to either gently remove damaged skin layers or stimulate deep collagen production, while chemical peels use active solutions to exfoliate and renew your skin’s surface. Both can improve tone, clarity, and texture, but the choice depends on your skin type, tolerance for downtime, and treatment goals. Many clients combine both for comprehensive rejuvenation.

How many laser sessions will I need?

The number of treatments varies depending on your skin goals, lifestyle, and the type of laser used. At BYGOLDEN, we tailor your plan based on a thorough skin analysis using our Aura 3D device, a sophisticated imaging system that captures your skin’s condition in microscopic detail, allowing us to track your results over time. We’re one of only 5 clinics in Australia with this technology!

Aura Skin imaging System

What to expect with each laser device:

  • Cryomed Pastelle An advanced Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser ideal for pigmentation, tattoo removal, and skin toning. Many clients require 3–6 sessions, spaced 2–4 weeks apart.

  • ClearLift A gentle yet effective non-ablative laser for skin tightening, fine lines, and texture. Results often build over 4–6 sessions, spaced 2–3 weeks apart.

  • ClearSkin Designed for active acne, scarring, and texture refinement, typically requiring 4–6 treatments, spaced 2–4 weeks apart.

  • DYE-VL A powerful solution for vascular lesions, redness, and pigmentation. Most clients see results in 3–5 sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart.

Does laser treatment hurt?

Our technology is designed with client comfort in mind. Many describe the sensation as a quick, warm pulse or mild snapping feeling. We can adjust settings to your comfort and, where appropriate, use cooling methods to keep your experience pleasant.

How long does it take to recover from laser treatment?

Recovery times vary by the device used:

  • Pastelle: Mild redness for 1–3 days.

  • ClearLift: Minimal downtime, mild flushing for a few hours.

  • ClearSkin: Redness and possible mild swelling for 1–2 days.

  • DYE-VL: Mild redness or temporary darkening of pigment for 1–3 days.

We’ll provide personalised aftercare instructions to ensure optimal healing and results.

What’s the best treatment for pigmentation?

Pigmentation can result from sun exposure, hormonal changes, or inflammation. Our Pastelle and DYE-VL devices are particularly effective for breaking down pigment safely. For stubborn or deep pigmentation, we may recommend combining laser with targeted chemical peels for enhanced outcomes.

Is laser safe for all skin types?

While our technology allows us to safely treat a wide range of skin tones, not all devices suit every complexion. This is where our Aura 3D skin analysis becomes essential — it ensures we choose the safest, most effective settings and devices for your individual needs.

What’s the difference between IPL and laser?

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) uses a broad spectrum of light to target multiple concerns at once, whereas lasers like Pastelle, ClearLift, ClearSkin, and DYE-VL use a single, focused wavelength for greater precision. Both have their place, but lasers typically offer more targeted and predictable outcomes.
