Skin · BYGOLDEN Melbourne
Medical-grade skin peels at BYGOLDEN in Parkdale, tailored by degree-qualified dermal clinicians. Every peel is selected for your skin specifically.
A chemical peel works by applying a controlled acid solution to the skin, accelerating cell turnover and prompting the skin to shed its outermost layers. Depending on the peel depth, this can address concerns ranging from minor texture and congestion through to persistent pigmentation, acne scarring, and significant sun damage.
At BYGOLDEN in Parkdale, Melbourne, no peel is applied without a thorough skin assessment first. Your clinician evaluates your Fitzpatrick skin type, barrier health, active concerns, and treatment history before selecting the appropriate peel level and formulation. This is not a menu you order from — it is a clinical decision made for you.
A skin consultation is required before any peel treatment proceeds.
"The right peel is a clinical decision, not a menu choice."
Every peel treatment plan at BYGOLDEN is built around your skin — your Fitzpatrick type, your barrier health, your concerns, your history. We assess before we act, and we tailor before we treat. You will never be given a peel that has not been selected for you specifically.
An entry-level peel for first-time clients or those with sensitive or reactive skin. Superficial in depth, it works on the outermost layer of the epidermis to gently refine texture, soften congestion and even skin tone. Minimal visible peeling. Most clients return to normal activity immediately. A strong starting point for anyone new to clinical skin treatments.
A step up in strength for clients who have previously tolerated a beginner peel or have a resilient skin barrier. Targets superficial-to-mid epidermal concerns including uneven tone, post-inflammatory pigmentation, fine lines, and persistent congestion. Some visible flaking or peeling over two to four days is expected.
A higher-strength peel for experienced clients or those with more significant concerns — deeper pigmentation, active acne, acne scarring, or marked textural irregularities. Penetrates to mid-epidermal depth with more pronounced peeling over several days. Requires a well-prepped skin barrier and a thorough consultation to confirm suitability.
Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is one of the most established acids in professional skin treatment. A TCA peel penetrates into the mid-to-deeper layers of the epidermis, stimulating collagen production and prompting significant cellular renewal. May assist with sun damage, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, enlarged pores, and fine lines. Best suited to Fitzpatrick I–III with a well-prepared barrier.
Cosmelan is a professional depigmentation system developed for the clinical management of persistent pigmentation — including melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, sun damage and hormonally driven pigmentation patterns. BYGOLDEN is one of a small number of clinics in Melbourne offering Cosmelan as a professionally administered program.
Unlike a standard chemical peel, Cosmelan combines an intensive in-clinic application with a structured at-home maintenance protocol. This dual-phase approach targets melanin production at the source while promoting skin renewal across multiple layers.

Every peel treatment at BYGOLDEN begins with a thorough skin assessment. Your clinician will assess your skin, determine the most appropriate peel, and outline your full treatment plan including expected downtime and aftercare. If appropriate, treatment can proceed at the same appointment.
